Our unique junior preschool is an introduction to our learning-focused preschool classes for children who are 3 years of age (or turning 3 by December 31st of the school year). Classes are three-hour sessions and progress through three levels that each focus on a different area of development.

Our first level — Play and Exploration — is focused on social and emotional development, which encourages your child to be independent and social by learning through play in our enriched learning environment. The student’s will become familiar with the routines and procedures of the classroom and will work to develop early preschool skills such as fine motor skills and visual perception.

The second level — Jump Start Art — provides children with the opportunity to continue to improve their fine motor skills while working with many creative mediums to learn colours, shapes, cutting skills, counting, number recognition, texture, and cause and effect just to name a few!

The final level — All About ABCs — teaches your child early literacy skills such as print awareness, alphabet knowledge, and phonological awareness. Your child will learn letter recognition, how to print their name and begin to learn letter sounds through various activities that build confidence and prepare students for our preschool level classes.

Choose between one or two day class options. All three levels are included in both courses however the two day class provides a greater opportunity for concept reinforcement and social development. To ensure that the program is developmentally appropriate for your child, he or she must be 3 years of age by December 31st of the academic year in order to attend. Your child must also be fully potty trained and out of diapers or pull-ups.

• Snack and all school supplies are provided at no extra charge!
• Class Times are: 8:45-11:45 a.m.
• Drop off is between 8:45-9:00 a.m.
• Pick up at 11:45 a.m.
• Pick up and drop off services are available to students attending the adjacent YMCA childcare centres. Contact us for details.

Bloom accepts junior preschool registrations for the current school year up until January 1, 2023 provided space is available. Contact us today regarding availability in our current classes.
